The City owns and operates its own Municipal Utilities that provide electric, water, and wastewater services inside the City limits. TMU also bills for residential trash and collects those fees to send on to the trash company. You may come into the office at 1100 Main Street, Trenton Missouri or call us at (660) 359-2281
You will need to bring in with you a valid driver’s license and have your social security number handy for a credit check to be performed in order to see what the deposit would be for that location.
All those who have purchased a house will need to bring in a copy of the purchase or quick claim deed to have the utilities transferred into their name.
All those who are renting will need to have a copy of the signed rental agreement showing those who are renting and a copy of the rental inspection that must be done by the City Code Enforcement officer before new renters go into a location.
The City contracts for the billing of all residential trash services. Currently that contract is with Rapid Removal Disposal in Trenton. They are located at 86 NW 10th Ave in Trenton MO and their contact number is (660) 654-4287.
The City contracts for the billing of all residential recycling services. All accounts that currently have water service with TMU will be bill the recycling fee for recycling pick-up whether the resident takes advantage of using that service or not. Currently our recycling collector is Hope Haven Industries Inc out of Chillicothe, Missouri. Their contact number is (660) 646-5172.
These permits can be obtained at City Hall/TMU office for a fee. Please check at the office for the cost to obtain these permits or go to our online forms for the application form and the current rates.
All dogs and cats will need to be licensed inside the City limits. You will need to provide a copy from the veterinarian showing that your animal has had a current rabies shot. Licenses must be renewed annually with new shot records
All businesses and contractors will need a business license in order to do business inside the City limits. The City will charge a license fee. (If the business is located in Trenton, the license will be $50. If you are an itinerant merchant or out of City Contractor, the license will be $100). Business licenses are renewed every July of each year.
Any renter can fill out a renters’ complaint form with the City. There is a $15 fee to fill out the form. The code enforcement officer will review and investigate the complaint.
The City will accept only tree limbs (no huge trees, only small limbs, sticks or small bushes). This is basically for residential use only. They will not accept any yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, or garden debris. Any other items such as plants, leaves, and clipping should be composted or burned. Please check with the Fire Department ((660) 359-5552) on when burning is allowed and what the requirements are. The brush dump is located on NW 27th Street between Highway 65 and NW 10th Avenue. It is open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Monday through Friday. For information on dumping contact the Trenton Street Department at (660) 359-6323.
